Hi all
I'm having trouble playing DVD's with mplayer on my Gentoo64 installation.
This is what I get from mplayer.
Code: |
XPS sedrik # mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom/
mount: block device /dev/cdrom is write-protected, mounting read-only
XPS sedrik # mplayer /mnt/cdrom/
MPlayer 1.0rc1-4.1.1 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00GHz (Family: 6, Model: 15, Stepping: 6)
MMX2 supported but disabled
CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 0 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1
Compiled with runtime CPU detection.
Playing /mnt/cdrom/.
Seek failed
Exiting... (End of file)

This is what equery tells me I have emerged mplayer with.
Code: |
XPS sedrik # equery uses mplayer

Yes, and don't mount the DVD. Just put it in and mplayer will play it, if he doesn't, tell him what your dvd drive is, e.g. /dev/hdc see man pages for additional help _________________ The Creature from Jekyll Island. |

You can mount it if you want. Doesn't matter. In some cases it will actually be able to access it faster. _________________ If it ain't broke, tweak it. dvds | blurays | blog | wiki |
