Hi folks,

I don't know if someone of you can answer me my question, but is there a reasonable reason why both programs do not reside in the same directory?
What does the Linux Standard Base say where such security programs should reside in?

Many thanks in advance,
yours Henri

The locations are based on upstream decisions. chkrootkit wants be run only by root. rkhunter does not have this restriction.
Where Gentoo adheres to the LSB, it is coincidental.

Also, file location "conventions" and man/info/docs are the two remaining, completely insane aspects of Linux.
