Ok i follow the directions at the wiki : http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_AMD_64#Firefox and everything installs correctly, but when i execute firefox-bin i get the following errors:

Code:
localhost firefox # firefox-bin
/opt/firefox/mozilla-xremote-client: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Unknown error 127 from mozilla-xremote-client
/opt/firefox/firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
firefox-bin exited with non-zero status (127)

i think i might have to make a symlink but not entirely sure

The other problem is i updated m regualr 64 bit firefox, and now there is no menu icon, i wonder where i can copy the .bin so that it appears on the menu (im running gnome).

Thanks in advance

ok clearly there is a linking problem, because it does the same thing with real player, but i still dont know how to fix it. Just thought id rule out possibility of firefox specific problem. Somthing wrong with emulation i think.

ok this thread was totally pointless, should have done more homework. There is a missing dependency thread in this build, you need to merge app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-compat to get it working.

Maybe not useless. Put [SOLVED] in the title then if someone else is having a similar problem they know this thread might show them how to fix it.
