|
|
I recently upgraded two gentoo machines, and both of them are now not displaying the GDM login screen. They both get to the stage where you get a greay screen and the black X mouse cursor like if its trying to load.
I have re-emerged gdm, one machine the compile breaks, and the other one completes without a problem. Although still the same problem.
Has anyone encountered this?
Thanks.

I found the answer to this on an European gentoo link, which I have now misplaced. It was just sym-linking a library.
I will track it down again. |

It's libdbus that needs relinking.
/usr/lib/libdbus-1.so.2 -> /usr/lib/libdbus-1.so.3.2.0
Was the symlink needed, but revdep-rebuild fixed it for me without the need for manually linking them. |
