Coldplug and Udev USB issue

Alright, I realize that coldplug has gone out the window now, and udev handles it now. I am cool with that, and have changed over and it works now...for the most part

I am on an older Compaq R3000, which used to work perfectly fine with coldplug. Now whenever I start it up, it would always lock up at the udev line. So I disconnect everything and try again, and it all of a sudden it boots up now.

I have narrowed it down to the usb of course, but can someone tell me why it locks up when i have something usb (can be anything, a hub, or mouse or keyboard, anything) it locks up at udev?
