Salve ho installato Gentoo 2006.1 con kernel 2.6.19-r5 e dopo l'ultimo aggiornamento di udev mi da il seguente errore al boot
/sbin/hotplug : no such file or directory
infatti sono andato a vedere sotto sbin e manca il comando hotplug
come posso risolvere il problema ??

hotplug con le nuove versioni di udev se nn erro dalla 1.0.3 in poi è intregato in esso, quindi non serve + il pacchetto a parte, prova a dare un | Code: | | emerge --depclean -p |
e vedere se vuole togliere dei pacchetti e quali.
togli hotplug dal runlevel di default con | Code: | | rc-update del hotplug default |

Il problema è che sbin/hotplug appartiene al pacchetto hotplug-base (dipendenza anche nelle ultime versioni di udev): se manca quelll'eseguibile, è probabile che sia stato erroneamente cancellato, una reinstallazione del pacchetto penso risolva il problema!

da udev-104-r11 non serve + quel pacchetto  , o almeno sul mio pc non serve più  |

Hai ragione, frettolosamente ho guardato l'ebuild della versione 103, che richiedeva ancora hotplug-base. 
Effettivamente adesso, avendo installato udev-104*, se faccio il depclean mi vuole rimuovere questo dannato pacchetto
