Hi all,
Here is what I am trying to do.

Right now, my server as 512Mgs of ram. I rebooted it yesterday, because I had done a lot of updates in the last few weeks and wanted to make sure everything would come back up fine if I lost power. Also, it gave me a chance to upgrade the kernel.

When I look in top, I see memory usage as follow.

Code:
Mem:    516272k total,   509964k used,     6308k free,   158812k buffers
Swap:   506036k total,     2592k used,   503444k free,   174608k cached

I'd like to know what programs ended up with parts geting put in swap. I'd like to be able to figure out why it even bothered to use it considering the level of free and buffers memory. Anyone know how to find out what got swaped out?

Edit: A litle clarification. Right now, it's exactly as it was when I booted it last night, I haven't started anything extra, so I have a hard time figuring out what caused anything at all to get pushed into swap. This is part of me trying to figure that out.

Top can tell you but you will probably need to change its display settings.

Guess I'll have to dig into it's guts then. I hadn't seen that option at first glance.

Thanks for the info.
