|
|
Hello, I got my 3ware 9650SE card last night and i've built a RAID5 with 4x320Gb Seagate Baracuda 7200.10 discs. When not using writecache I get like 5-6MB/sec writeperformance... is this normal? I didn't get a BBU with it so I'm not sure I want to use the cache for anything other then reading...
when using cache i get around 100MB/s (when storsafe is set to protect, 118 when using perform)
Code: | dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=128k count=100000
100000+0 records in
100000+0 records out
13107200000 bytes (13 GB) copied, 122.275 s, 107 MB/s |
Is there something that I've forgotten? or is the combo Seagate Baracuda and the controler not a good combo? Or is the driver not working as it should..?
Using gentoo-sources 2.6.20 with the controlers driver built in into the kernel...
Also, know any good site that explaines the differance in the storsafe profiles?
