|
|
After doing a rather large emerge -Du world yesterday, I am unable to start kmail.
When I type the command in the shell, I get this:
Code: | kmail: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.4/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.1' not found (required by /usr/kde/3.5/lib64/libkhtml.so.4) |
Tried to re-emerge kmail, ended up with this error:
Code: | /bin/sh ../libtool --silent --tag=CXX --mode=link x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-g++ -Wno-long-long -Wundef -ansi -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500 -D_BSD_SOURCE -Wcast-align -Wconversion -Wchar-subscripts -Wall -W -Wpointer-arith -DNDEBUG -DNO_DEBUG -O2 -march=athlon64 -O2 -pipe -Wformat-security -Wmissing-format-attribute -Wno-non-virtual-dtor -fno-exceptions -fno-check-new -fno-common -DQT_CLEAN_NAMESPACE -DQT_NO_ASCII_CAST -DQT_NO_STL -DQT_NO_COMPAT -DQT_NO_TRANSLATION -o kmail -L/usr/kde/3.5/lib64 -L/usr/qt/3/lib64 -L/usr/lib64 -R /usr/kde/3.5/lib64 -R /usr/kde/3.5/lib64 -R /usr/qt/3/lib64 -R /usr/lib64 main.o libkmailprivate.la

I tried to re-emerge libstdc++ and do a revdep-rebuild, but that did not help.
What can i do to fix this??
Thanks! _________________ emerge IQ

This may be an issue that you want to Code: | emerge libstdc++-v3 | but libkhtml.so belongs to kdelibs so you may need to rebuild it. _________________ - Failure is not an option. It's bundled with your software. |

see Quote: | /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.4/libstdc++.so.6 | looking in 3.4.4 means you did not follow the gcc upgrade guide when you upgraded gcc to 4.1.1
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gcc-upgrading.xml
running Code: | fix_libtool_files.sh 3.4.4 | may solve the immediate issue but you need to follow the guide anyhow to insure complete sanity. _________________ - Failure is not an option. It's bundled with your software. |

that solved it, but i'm pretty sure I did follow the guide, I always follow them.
anyhow, the important thing is that I can start using kmail again...thx! _________________ emerge IQ |
