Hello everyone

I bought this md8808 a month ago, I'm quite happy with it, works fine (at least with windows).
But I decided to go with gentoo because with Windows I can't configure the keyboard and others things, and watching TV with Windows is a pain in the ass.

Anyway, of course I'd like to use the special features with linux too, but I'm having some trouble with it.

1. This computer's got two "power on" button, I think one's used for standby, but on boot it started the second os (cyberlink power cinema linux, --> crap). I read something about chainloader and so on, but how can I use this second button for linux boot or even in linux to go into standby?

2. Gnome doesn't show me standby options, but I used a command once to go into standby (something like echo >>), but only gnome got into standby and couldn't wake up, the computer still runned and I had to do a "hard" reboot. Is there a useflag for standby? (standby is enabled in the kernel options)

3. Card Reader, something like C-media doesn't work, I remember that I added it to the kernel, but dmesg doesn't show it up, anyway, not that important.

4. I like to use this tv-card
Code:
02:04.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7133/SAA7135 Video Broadcast Decoder (rev d1)

I read a lot of related posts, and tried all these card and tuner settings, but none worked, kernel patch for md8000 didn't work too, maybe I made a mistake.
But cyberlink power cinema linux has a linux kernel, and there the tv-card works fine, I don't think cyberlink added some special kernel features??

5. Nvidia module works with xorg. I tried nvtv, but I says no supported card found. Is there a way to use scart, s-video? What to add to xorg.conf?

Yeah that's pretty it. I hope it'll work one time, then I'll switch completely to linux.
best regards
manuel
