I've build a new kernel as described in http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/genkernel.xml

and I got a similar error as described in https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-540432-highlight-xfs+magic+number.html

However I cannot find initramfs-genkernel anywhere on my system.

Where can I find it, or what options do I need to include running genkernel?

mount /boot and
Code:
genkernel  --menuconfig all
should do it.
Then ls -al /boot , it should be there.

Puntjuh suggested to me to do in /usr/src/linux:

Quote:
genkernel initrd

This works fine for me!
