Hello im installing gentoo on an intel imac and i need airport support to download the necessary files, since i dont have any other way to connect to internet. I have read that the module i need is bcm43xx, so i modprobe it and seems to load well (dmesg doesnt show any error message, just outputs "bcm43xx driver", what i guess means it loads fine), but i get no eth device when i do ifconfig or iwconfig. Is there a way to get it to work just using the tools on minimun install cd?

What type of card do you have? I have the broadcom 4318 wireless card and the bcm43xx does not work for me. I use ndiswrapper and the windows drivers and it works just fine.
