I'd like to log who logs in (as root or as user) and the time and date of the authentication in combination with a line that says login failed/was successful.
Is there a security tool/program that allows me to do the above?
Can you recommend any other security tools to check if somebody is trying to break into a server? |

if you have a syslogger installed like syslog-ng logins should be recorded in /var/log/messages _________________ Nothing is secure / Security is always a trade-off with usability / Do not assume anything / Trust no-one, nothing / Paranoia is your friend / Think for yourself |
