Hello all ,
I'm going to buy myself a new pc , with a nice core 2 duo processor and a P5N-E SLI motherboard.
I've chosen for this motherboard because of it's nice price/quality. And as bonus , that nforce 650i SLI
chipset it has got seems to be a very nice overklocker . So this motherboard is the best for me.
Then the following thing i did was searching about the linux compability of this motherboard (and specific) it's chipset ,
but i really haven't found something usefull on the ineternet about it , neither on this forum.
So my question is : Will this motherboard with this nforce 650i SLI chipset work with the linux 2.6.20 kernel without problems ?
Thanks in advance . |

hi,
I've read on some german blogs & ubuntu forums that
linux from time to time just hangs due to irq load balancing problems with pci device & network card
so if you don't need an uptime above 24 hours perhaps it will run stable
you should do some more research on this board before buying, ...
Quote: | acpi_use_timer_override [HW,ACPI]
Use timer override. For some broken Nvidia NF5 boards
that require a timer override, but don't have
HPET |
with the options Code: | acpi_use_timer_override pci=assign-busses |
it works for approx 24 hours, then the network card seems to lose it's interrupt _________________ https://github.com/kernelOfTruth/ZFS-for-SystemRescueCD/tree/ZFS-for-SysRescCD-4.9.0
