|
|
I've been trying to rebuild my system with a new partition layout (which I'll admit is overly complex, but I wanted to try it). Well, once I got it to reboot, but my / partition as running at 100% capacity, and this was BEFORE i installed anything (think I was lucky it booted..). Well, now I've gotten it to a farther point - my new layout seems to be OK, but I keep having problems with a kernel panic. Seems that my system doesn't like the setup.
Going to try to remake the fss, and trying it over again.
I'm about to write out a script to do this automatically, actually.
But, anyways, has anyone else run into problems like this? _________________ The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner. |

Can't really say very much without the kernel panic message, the output of sfdisk -l /dev/[sh]dX, fstab, the IDE/SATA chipset (lspci and lspci -n): check [FAQ] KC13: I just installed a new kernel and it won't boot for the kernel configuration essentials to get your root filesystem to mount.
If it's any form of RAID, forget I said anything _________________ The avatar is jorma, a "duck" from "Elephants Dream": the film and all the production materials have been made available under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License, see orange.blender.org for details. |

I rebooted, reformatted, and it works fine now. Just trying to install everything now (only a few dozen programs, lol).
Didn't remember to reboot after fdisk. Hrm... _________________ The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner. |
