I have a laptop that is running amarok, and I have a couple of issues. First, whenever I open amarok, it spends about 30-40 minutes indexing my music files. Is there a way to set it to scan manually instead of at every startup? I didn't see any option to do so.
Also, when it starts playing, I get no audio output, and it claims it is playing back MP3's. but each 3-4 minute MP3 takes about 2 seconds before amarok switches to the next file. These files play fine in Audacious. Amarok is set to play via the xine engine, and I have alsa set up. How do I fix this problem?
Last, I do have some other MP3's that do not play in Audacious- they don't list a duration in the playlist and it just sits there when it gets to them. To recover, I have to select the next file that lists a duration, and click play. I am assuming the files are bad- what app will fix them?
Thanks for the help! |

I think you are missing the codecs.
In my make.conf I have USE="win32codecs" among others.
Do you have this one? If not, add it, then
Does that fix it? |
