I have installed my fresh installation and it even took me some time to configure grub.
now i am trying to get inside this in order to somehow see some details of it but i cannot find it.
i remember well that the file i was configuring was /boot/grub/grub.conf
can anybody tell me where i will find it?

Assuming that you have booted your newly installed Gentoo system, and you followed the default partitioning scheme, your /boot partition is probably not mounted. If you run the "mount" command, does "boot" show up in the output anywhere? If not, try running, "mount /boot", and then see if you can find /boot/grub/grub.conf. _________________

You will find the file once you have mounted /boot. There you'll find a directory called grub where you will hopefully see the files you're looking for, at least there'll be a file called grub.conf.sample or something similar. _________________ Gentoo can do. |

it also tells me that the partition that should normally contain my /boot is clean and then it says Fsck couldnot correct all the problems and that manual repair is needed
can this be the problem we just talked about? |
