nfs qestions??

hi,

i just wanted to ask some questions about how to set up a nfs system.

1. what do i have to emerge to get nfs working?
2. what do i have to compile into the kernel ?
3. is there a good tutorial site about nfs stuff?
4. can i put icons for nfs connections on my desktop?

1. Emerge nfs-utils
2. Include (static or module) support for NFS file systems (both client and server) in your kernel
3. Don't know
4. AFAIK, both GNOME and KDE can handle NFS connections this way: nfs://computer/share/and/so/on.

2. File Systems -> Network File Systems ->
Compile into the kernel all the nfs relevant options (nfs client, server, nfsv3 and v4 support)
3. No idea, I worked it out from the exports and mount man pages
4. Just put a link to the place where you mount it (ie /mnt/nfs), to the filesystem an nfs mount acts like any other block device/mounted directory
