I upgraded my gentoo box. It works perfectly after a few teaks but it seems to have lost the automount of cd, dvds and usb drives that the previous gentoo had. It is annoying having to mount manually every cd or usb from shell. I read something abt supermount and try ivman but it didnt work. Any suggestions??

Maybe try (for KDE):

http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/kde-config.xml#kde_device_mounting

HTH!

I use GNOME too. Just make sure you have the right USE flags, and add yourself to the plugdev group. You also might want to have hald and/or dbus come up at boot. In any case:

Good luck!
