Hi,

Since 2.6.20 I've started using the experimental ATA drivers. As a result, there are no longer hd* devices, only sd* and sr*. Since now I've never had any trouble writing DVDs in k3b.

However, I've now realized that I can't erase any CD-RW. Here's the debugging output:
Code:
cdrecord command:
-----------------------
/usr/bin/cdrecord -v gracetime=2 dev=5,0,0 speed=10 -tao driveropts=burnfree -eject blank=fast -force

cdrecord
-----------------------
scsidev: '5,0,0'

scsibus: 5 target: 0 lun: 0
/usr/bin/cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open '/dev/sg*'. Cannot open SCSI driver.
/usr/bin/cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'.
/usr/bin/cdrecord: For possible transport specifiers try 'cdrecord dev=help'.
Cdrecord-ProDVD-Clone 2.01.01a10 (x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2006 Jörg Schilling
TOC Type: 1 = CD-ROM

The device node is located at /dev/sr0 and nForce 4 is the chipset.

Is anyone experiencing the same problem?

Thanks a lot for your reply, d2_racing.

Apparently, I hadn't enabled SCSI generic support (CONFIG_CHR_DEV_SG). Now I can erase my CD-RWs successfully, thanks again!
