Hello all,

I have a Silicon Image 3114 SATA RAID controller, but use it in a non-RAID configuration for my SATA drives. Recently I've been having these errors with my newly formatted ext3 drive:
Code:

I've been using this setup for a while now, but I had to reformat my drive and changed from reiserfs to ext3. But I get the nagging feeling that the sata_sil driver might be causing this issue. My Reiserfs partitions started getting corrupted sometime in Nov/Dec, which was bad and I thought it was a reiserfs issue so I changed to ext3. However now that I'm getting writing errors on this ext3 I'm pretty sure those filesystems aren't the problem. Nor are the harddrives bad because I bought a new hard drive and it had the same problems with writting, so I placed it into my windows box and it was fine.

Well after a little digging I found a kernel bug that's still new

http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7257

http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6845

So I'm not alone in the issue, no idea about a solution though
