Not sure what the deal is here. I went over the ALSA guide again just to make sure.
lspci:
Code: |
03:00.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Live! EMU10k1 (rev 07)
03:00.1 Input device controller: Creative Labs SB Live! MIDI/Game Port (rev 07)

I've got ALSA driver built into the kernel, as well as emu10k for my SBLive card. When I run alsamixer, I get a screen w/ all sorts of controls (more than I need even) which you can see here. That would tell me that ALSA has found my soundcard.
However, when I run alsaconf, it tells me it finds no support PnP or PCI card. When I play an mp3 with madplay, it works (although a bit low). In GAIM 2 (beta 6), I set the sound method to command, and the command /usr/bin/aplay %s to play the sounds. When I test them, I get this:
Code: | ALSA lib confmisc.c:848:(snd_func_card_driver) cannot find card '0'
ALSA lib conf.c:3500:(_snd_config_evaluate) function snd_func_card_driver returned error: No such device
ALSA lib confmisc.c:397:(snd_func_concat) error evaluating strings
ALSA lib conf.c:3500:(_snd_config_evaluate) function snd_func_concat returned error: No such device
ALSA lib confmisc.c:1248:(snd_func_refer) error evaluating name
ALSA lib conf.c:3500:(_snd_config_evaluate) function snd_func_refer returned error: No such device
ALSA lib conf.c:3972:(snd_config_expand) Evaluate error: No such device
ALSA lib pcm.c:2145:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM default
aplay: main:545: audio open error: No such device |
Any help? |
