Posted: Fri Mar 02, 2007 7:54 pm Post subject: Plugging in Zaurus (usb0) wipes out resolv.conf [SOLVED] |
|
|
Code: | # cat /etc/conf.d/net
dns_domain="kdx.int"
nis_domain="kdx"
nis_servers="viking.kdx.int ares.kdx.int"
# For Zaurus USBD network
config_usb0=( "192.168.129.1 netmask 255.255.255.0" )
|
Wired network is eth1 (no eth0). When I boot, I get a decent resolv.conf with correct domain and nameserver entries.
When I plugin my zaurus, which activates usb0, the resolv.conf gets wiped to:
Code: | # cat /etc/resolv.conf
# Generated by net-scripts for interface usb0
domain kdx.int
|
no nameserver entries, so internet stops! I manually copy a working resolv.conf and things get back to working!.
Any idea whats going on, and how can I fix it?
Ajay

You should immediately suspect your dns_domain entry, since it's identical to the value you don't want in resolv.conf ![Wink :wink:](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

well, dns_domain is fine. I am more worried about loosing the "nameserver" entries.

I will try this out in a few days, and will post results.
Thanks

It worked. I removed the dns_domain entry from conf.d/net, and its working now.
Thanks
