I tried to install alsa-driver first and then went throught this wiki:
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/alsa-guide.xml
everything fine now, no errors or something like that.
than i installed vorbis-tools and made my useraccount part of "audio".
now i start "ogg123 foobar.ogg" and it starts playing, but the problem is, i can't hear anything.
The speakers are fine, tested on a other system, the .ogg file too, alsa running as written in this wiki and i tested several modes of alsamixer, nothing changed.
it is an intel8x0 i use.
i also found this:
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_ALSA_Complete_%28includes_dmix%29#Known_Issues
but a asound.state doesn't exist and the last part doesn't help either.
Is there anything else i can check? thx
edit:
i was trying a other soundcard and now it is fine, maybe some strange hardware defect |
