Hi all,

The latest audacious 1.3.0 is great! However, I found out that the audacious-plugins-1.3.0 not compiling flac support in even with the "flac" USE flag is set:

Code:

$ emerge -pv audacious-plugins

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R   ] media-plugins/audacious-plugins-1.3.0  USE="aac alsa chardet flac mad nls -adplug -arts -esd -jack -lirc -modplug -musepack -opengl -oss -pulseaudio -sid -sndfile -timidity -tta -vorbis -wavpack -wma" 0 kB

In the audacious preferences settings dialog plugins section, there's no flac plugin... So what happened to the audacious-plugin's flac support? Is this a known bug? Any workaround? TIA :)

Hi,
I've installed the audacious and audacious plugin (1.3.0-r1) yesterday, and no problem !
The FLAC support is OK.
You should unmask Audacious-plugins and audacious, update Portage and retry to install them BOTH.
I think this audacious-plugin isn't compatible with previous audacious release.
See you and sorry for my english ! :(

hey FrekoDing,

thanks for your reply :)

I just updated to the latest audacious/audacious-plugins 1.3.0-r1, however, there still no flac plugin:

Code:

$ equery files audacious-plugins
/usr/lib64/audacious/Input
/usr/lib64/audacious/Input/libaac.so
/usr/lib64/audacious/Input/libalac.so
/usr/lib64/audacious/Input/libcdaudio.so
/usr/lib64/audacious/Input/libconsole.so
/usr/lib64/audacious/Input/libcuesheet.so
/usr/lib64/audacious/Input/libmadplug.so
/usr/lib64/audacious/Input/libmetronom.so
/usr/lib64/audacious/Input/libsexypsf.so
/usr/lib64/audacious/Input/libtonegen.so
/usr/lib64/audacious/Input/libvtx.so
/usr/lib64/audacious/Input/libwav.so
/usr/lib64/audacious/Output

I do enabled the "flac" USE flag, still no luck, any other ideas? :?

oooh~

I figured out that the FLAC plugin was not enabled from configure:

Code:

*** flac plugin couldn't be enabled due to missing dependencies ***
...
 Input Plugins
  -------------
Free Lossless Audio Codec (flac):       no

weird, let me check...

edit: typo.

Hey,
strange problem...
I'm not working on my gentoo box now.
Maybe an incompatibility with the 64 bits architecture ?!
In the ebuild, the FLAC USE Flag indicates that it needs libvorbis.
You can try to reinstall it.
bye. Good luck ! :?

Hey, that's it! The "flac" USE flag DEPENDS ON the "vorbis" USE flag!

I added the "vorbis" USE and emerge it again, now it works! BiG thanks to FrekoDing ;)

So, here is a question, is it possible to describe the dependencies between USE flags of a packages? Does the portage handles this properly?
