I'm trying to install Lirc on my Inspiron 8200, and I don't know which driver to use for the integrated IR receiver. Does anyone know what to use? I've googled extensively, to no avail.. |

Lirc is more for remote controls. If you are using one, then it might be more obvious which lirc driver to use. I think the drivers for the infra-red ports are part of the kernel, so you need to make sure those are enabled and then find softeware to do whatever it is you wanted with the ir-port. Hopefully this is helpful |

When you say part of the kernel, do you mean there is a place in "make menuconfig" for it, or just emerging Lirc(which is what I'm having trouble with in terms of finding the right driver)?
What I meant was which driver I should use. |
