|
|
I'm moving tomorrow, and I'll have to use dialup for internet.
I got a Best Data USB HARDWARE CONTROLLER modem, and I installed wvdial, but it doesn't detect it. I assume it's because it only looks for pci modems?
Anyway, I just need some really quick help getting this thing working before I move, otherwise I'm internetless for a while, and it will be even more difficult to get it to work.
Any help would be appreciated.
By the way, it does show up with lsusb, and it creates a dev node ttyACM0 (it goes away when I unplug it). _________________ www.impressusart.com

I'm looking at the FAQ now...help?
[EDIT]
I don't understand why it can't open the device. I've got usb modem support built into my kernel, the node shows up when I plug in the modem.
Code: | minicom: cannot open /dev/ttyACM0: Input/output error |

Somehow it works now - wvdialconf detected it, although it would not before, and it dials. _________________ www.impressusart.com |
