Hi,

I'm having a hard time with this one and I can't seem to find anyone with the same problem on the forums.

I'm trying to install the scanner of a HP PSC 2210 all in one. I followed the usb scanner tutorials. I have hplip, the sane stuff, user in usb and scanner groups, config files as per tutorials, the works... Everything seems to be ok, and scanimage -L detects the scanner correctly:

Code:
# scanimage -L
device `hpaio:/usb/PSC_2200_Series?serial=MY29QD3BBT0G' is a Hewlett-Packard PSC_2200_Series all-in-one

The problem is when I launch xsane. The program starts, shows the license agreement and for a moment shows the "scanning for devices" dialog window. Then it disappears. The xsane process keeps running but shows no windows, no errors, no nothing. The exact same things happens if I use kooka!

Anyone had a similar problem or knows what this could be?

Another question: all the tutorials keeps talking about hp-toolbox but I can't find it anywhere. It is supposed to come with hplip right? I have hplip 1.6.12 emerged but can't find it...

Thanks!

The PSC needed a hard rest. I removed the power cord for a few moments, restarted and it's working now.

Still wondering about hp-toolbox though.
