Here's a screenshot:

Or, of the same thing with my panel 120 pixels high for clearity:

And this is what is should look like (and does, when running metacity as WM):

I've tried several different themes to see if that was the problem, but it always looks like that when I have beryl running. It's as if beryl modified it to fit 16 desktops on a 4-by-4 grid, but I only have four (one workspace). When I switch desktops it highlights the top forth of each respective column. The bottom 3/4ths of each column don't do anything.
I'm running Beryl-0.2.1, and gnome-light-2.16.2
Anyone else run into this? solve it? _________________ Core2Duo T7100 1.8 ghz mini-itx, Nvidia FX220: Gentoo/Gnome/CompizFusion:XGL

I'm not sure what a "pager" is, but now that I look at it I should have said "workplace switcher", since that is what gnome calls it.
I edited my first post to reflect that change, and put 2 more screenshots. _________________ Core2Duo T7100 1.8 ghz mini-itx, Nvidia FX220: Gentoo/Gnome/CompizFusion:XGL
