Hello,

iam wondering how to monitor and manage the status of the PERC 5i raid controller in my dell 1950?

this is what lspci show me:

Code:
02:0e.0 RAID bus controller: Dell PowerEdge Expandable RAID controller 5

i can only find rpm packages of the megacli tool which have used some time ago with a perc 4i.

its very important (and urgent) that i get the health-status of the raid. any suggestions are welcome!

You'd need some sort of driver; I think Dell support Linux on their servers (Well, Redhat anyway), so if you bought it from them it might be worth asking their Tech people or checking their website ...

At the bottom it pointed me to:

HTH...

yes, thanks! the megaraid sas driver was already compiled in the kernel. the problem was that the megacli is only availiable as rpm as i see. i hoped to find the src-code. without success. so i emerged rpm  , wrote a little watch-script and everything works like a charme.

next issue would be to monitor the redudant power supplies...
