So I'm one of those unlucky folks who has a built in Sundance Technology Inc / IC Plus Corp IC Plus IP1000 Family Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, that requires the ipg/ip1000a driver...
Back in August of last year (the 22nd I think) there was a pretty large rewrite of that driver for possible inclusion into the kernel tree, since some changes made to the tree broke the existing one. Well as it comes to pass, the driver still isn't in the kernel proper.
I'm currently running gentoo-sources-2.6.17-gentoo-r8, and, figured it was time to upgrade to 2.6.19-gentoo-r5 on my AMD64 machine, but low and behold, my ip1000a driver (which I also keep in /usr/src) isn't compiling. The new kernel is missing linux/config.h and, only the rewritten ip1000a driver works with this change. My problem is, however, that I can't seem to FIND the new ic1000a driver anywhere.
The mfg's driver download page only has the old version. Google comes up with a plethora of posts to mailing lists about changes and even a few patches here and there, but no tarball. The only location I've seen this new driver in is a git repository, but I can't seem to get a snapshot of that repo, nor is the driver in git-sources.
Any ideas where I can get ahold of a copy of this driver (preferably in its own package rather than ganking it from the git tree, so that it includes a proper make file, etc)? _________________ -PhaseBurn |
