So Mr. Torvalds lashing out again at the Gnome team made me reconsider trying KDE. I haven't used KDE in something like 3 - 4 years, so I figured it was worth a shot. I've been toggling between XFCE4 and Gnome for the past few weeks, but now I'm ready to try KDE and only KDE for the next month to see how I like it. Unfortunately, there's one big thing right now crushing my dream of a usable KDE.
KDE's Konsole seems like a pretty nice terminal program at first, but then I quickly found something that drove me nuts about it vs. gnome-terminal and Terminal. If I maximize a window and text fills the screen completely from the left side of the screen to the right, then I restore the window, all the text that doesn't horizontally fit into the window gets erased completely. When I maximize the window again, the only text that remains is the text that would fit in the smaller window. Neither gnome-terminal or Terminal have this problem. Is there any way to change this? |

Nope. Not as far as I know. You could file a bug report on it in the KDE bug report system.
I just ctrl+alt+f1 to do terminal stuff though.
Usually I don't resize the konsole either, but that's just me. _________________ I'm too lazy to keep this stupid signature up to date, so here's something more interesting:
My friend Hetdegon can draw if you ask me.
Now using PClinuxOS on my laptop and Gentoo on my desktop and new laptop. |
