Long time user, first time poster. I was in Vegas last weekend with my girlfriend and decided to get some ink at HH in the Palms. I've been using gentoo for a number of years now and I absolutely love it. The art work was based off of this image:
http://www.gentoo.org/images/backgrounds/gentoo1280x1024.jpg
I don't really like the way the shading turned out, but I'm gonna give it some time and see how it looks in a couple of weeks. I may end up getting it filled in.

Thanks to everyone out there that has worked so hard to make gentoo the kick ass distro that it is. Keep up the good work! |

damn.
I think this type of tattoo can be regarded as the "significant other's name" kind, i.e. generally not a good idea for relationship stability reasons :) |

hahaahah, fair enough. I'm a little surprised that there aren't any fans of the needle here. At least I didn't get prtg on my right knuckles and emrg on the left.
I guess I see this more along the lines of the Kanji thing. Only people who can read and write Kanji would understand a Kanji symbol, everyone else just sees some lines and art. Basically the same thing applies here, it's like throwing up a flag and saying "Who loves the penguin!?!" ( said with a heavy metal growl ).
Thanks for the comments so far, my inked up friends and I have had some good laughs! |

Moved from Off the Wall to Gentoo Chat as this is actually Gentoo related.
I think i also should send a heads up to the GWN team about it, it'll make you famous. _________________ Dinosaur week! (Ok, this thread is so last week) |

Damn! I don't have (or plan on having) any tatoos for myself...but if you're going to get one, personally I think that's a cool one.
You'll also be the first and probably only user to become famous with your first post to the forum.

Not everyone's switching operating systems as often as their girlfriends
Besides the color and placement, I like it. A black/white "G" on your neck would probably look better, but of course it's your body and who knows, if there's already something on your neck What about adding a little tux in the non-filled part of this tattoo?
cheers,

I plan on getting the white space filled in so it's all nice and solid. The white is supposed to be some shading magic, but I'm not digging the way it's looking.
As for the tux, I'm thinking of doing something like a muscled up tux with tribal ink on the tux's belly. I'll probably have to find someone to do the art for me. |

I could never get a tattoo. I change my mind too often. I have installed Gentoo twice and twice given up on it. I'm in my third install now. |

Sometimes I am. But my computer is a hobby to me, I don't need it for work and I don't study computer science or anything like that. So I'm constantly looking for new stuff to do when it comes to my PC. Right now I'm messing around with Beryl. |

I plan on getting a Gentoo G on my calf eventually. Probably with Tux in close proximity.
Can't see your tat, though, because my company's proxy only allows outbound on port 80 |
