|
|
I just installed the new bleeding-edge Gentoo 1.3a_test to get one lightning-fast machine.
Previously I had a problem that kdesu didn't work so I hoping, as a byproduct, a complete re-install would solve this. It didn't.
I am well perplexed now. I seem to be the only soul in the world who has this problem. This is a fresh install, I add a user using the user manager of KDE, add the user to the "user" and "wheel" groups, log in as said user and try running konqueror as root.
If I type "kdesu - t konqueror" I get the output shown at the end of this post.
Note that this is a clean install of the base system and then KDE. Nothing else was installed or messed with before.
Just in case this is a hardware issue, I am installing onto a Dell Inspiron 8200 with Nvidia graphics card using the Nvidia drivers.
Regards,
Simon B.
