|
|
For quiet some time, I have weird X freezes.
By X freezes I mean that when I launch Konqueror (to show me its default page), K3B 1.0 or the Control Center,
My X freezes completely, except that I can still move the mouse but no keyboard or clicks...
It continued to happen when I switched back to safe CFLAGs (no -ftree-vectorize for now)
I am using xorg-server 1.1.1-r4 (X.org 7.1) with NVidia legacy drivers (my video-card is too old for the not legacy one)
I have done some research with gdb, and found out that all KDE related apps are stuck in select()
While my X is usually doing something inside the NVidia code (I hate obfuscations..)
Any ideas???
Btw, upgrading to X.org 7.2 is not an option for me (problems with the legacy driver or smth...) |

it appears that the NVidia legacy driver is the one to blame...
anyway, the nv driver is cool (and works) |
