Okay, this is a curious one. I recently ran an update on world -- some 157 packages to update. Somewhere in the process I seemed to lose direct rendering. I had it working solidly before on Xorg 7.1.

Now when I run glxinfo, this is what I get:
Code:
rei log # glxinfo | grep rendering
Error -12
Failed to initialize batch pool - possible incorrect agpgart installed
libGL warning: 3D driver returned no fbconfigs.
libGL error: InitDriver failed
libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering
direct rendering: No

I checked, agpgart is compiled as part of my kernel. How could this be incorrect?

Config and logs:
xorg.conf
xorg.0.log

Try disabling AIGLX. This exerpt from your xorg.0.log makes me think it is the source of the problem:

Code:
(EE) AIGLX error: Calling driver entry point failed(EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering

[/code]

First, run revdep-rebuild to see if anything got broken by the update.
