hi all!
i dont know if this is the correct forum but i try asking my question:
i have a gentoo box set up as a router with a running dhcp for internal subnet (192.168.0.x). i also own a netgeat wgt624v3 router which i want to use as an access point only for my wlan connections (with ip addresses also assigned via dhcp).
my previous setup looks like this: i gave the wgt624 a static ip address (192.168.0.10) and the gateway-ip 192.168.0.1 (my gentoo box connected to the internet). the wgt624 is also setup as a dhcp server with the ip range 192.168.0.150 - 192.168.0.254. this ran perfect so far. but now if any computer wants to connect via wlan he gets 192.168.0.10 as standardgateway not as before 192.168.0.1 !?!?!? before this mess i saw the dhcp server of my gentoo box assigning the ips to the wlan connections - but now not anymore. deactivating the dhcp on my wgt624 results in getting no connection to the net
i also could connect to the wgt624 through my wired net - this does not run anymore also
can anyone tell me how i can fix this?? i can use static ips on every wlan connection but this cannot be a accepable solution.
EDIT: i found a howto at http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/n101496.asp but i think this dhcp passthrough is not working properly. any other suggestions??
hope someone could help me...
thx in advacne

Disable the DHCP server on the router.
If you don't, both DHCP servers will respond to the request of a new computer and the Netgear router will reply first giving out a useless IP configuration because it is programmed to always use the WAN port for the Internet, which you have disconnected. |

thx!
everything runs fine now. i found out that the problem with the dhcp passthrough was the switch, where i connected the wgt624. after resetting the switch everything runs fine now.
thx!
greets
