Hello,

I've been able to successfully install suspend2-sources, and suspend to ram and suspend2 disk seem to work, but I have a couple trivial issues with the splash/framebuffer. For some reason, suspend2-sources-2.6.20-r3 (tried 2.6.19-r3 too) do not seem to have the vesa-tng option in the kernel under device drivers --> framebuffer support --> vga framebuffer support. The only option there is vesafb, vesa-tng is not present. The problem is that the laptops native resolution is 1440x900 and vesafb driver only seems to support gensplash themes at 1024x768. When I suspend to ram or hibernate, the screen becomes garbled when resume is performed. I was hoping that matching the framebuffer resolution to the X's resolution would prevent the garbled text/images on resume and subsequent suspends between a reboot or cold boot.

kernel config section:

device drivers --> framebuffer support --> vga framebuffer support --> vesafb

Secondly, when I suspend to disk, the laptop has to be manually powered off. Is there an option to power it down?

Thanks in advance.

What kind of video card do you have? If you have an nvidia, then the highest resolution you can hope to get is 1024x768

Do you perchance have a 64-bit processor?

vesafb-tng is disabled by X86_64, for whatever reason. You might try manually applying the kernel patch, I think I might have gotten that to work once... but I'm not sure what the real consequences are.
