Hello. I wound like to reinstall Xwindows because I didnt have my use variables set correctly the first time around. Do I have to uemerge and emerge again? Is the an easy recompile flag? Thank you. |

i think the first thing is to get out of xwindow/kde/or whatever..
then do a pretend emerge like:
emerge unmerge --pretend xfree
scan the package for anything that seems strange. then do the real thing with the command:
emerge unmerge xfree
Can somebody verify this?

Actually, if you're using a current version of portage, you should just be able to adjust your use settings, and then run 'emerge xfree' or whatever again. It will recompile it. |
