Forgive me if this is a duplicate, but I've searched all over...

Trying to compile e17 using HOWTO_e17 - Gentoo Wiki. I'm having the following issue while emerging x11-plugins/e_modules-moon-9999:

Code:

[...]
checking where the gettext function comes from... libc
checking for eet-config... no
checking for eet - version >= 0.9.10... no
*** The eet-config script installed by eet could not be found
*** If eet was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the EET_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to eet-config.
configure: error: Cannot find eet: Is eet-config in path?

!!! Please attach the following file when filing a report to bugs.gentoo.org:
!!! /var/tmp/portage/x11-plugins/e_modules-moon-9999/work/e_modules/moon/config.log

!!! ERROR: x11-plugins/e_modules-moon-9999 failed.
Call stack:
  ebuild.sh, line 1614:   Called dyn_compile
  ebuild.sh, line 971:   Called qa_call 'src_compile'
  environment, line 3928:   Called src_compile
  ebuild.sh, line 1304:   Called enlightenment_src_compile
  enlightenment.eclass, line 153:   Called econf
  ebuild.sh, line 577:   Called die

!!! econf failed
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, and the call stack if relevant.
!!! A complete build log is located at '/var/tmp/portage/x11-plugins/e_modules-moon-9999/temp/build.log'.

Has anyone seen this before?? If not, I'll post it as a bug... I have emerged/reemerged eet at least 3 times to no avail

I had the same problem yesterday when emerging exhibit.
It seems to be eet related.

Thanks that worked, but a few down the line one of the other e_modules were permanantly broken. (examine) I may try the stable version as I'm pretty fed up w/ the major WM's but still like the eye candy.

For what it's worth, I don't think examine failing would be reason enough for you to try the stable version. I'm sure that a module wouldn't be. ;) (Not sure what you mean by `stable' here; e16?) Don't think you need examine, really. I may be terribly, terribly wrong, of course. :D

E16 is what I meant, and I know I could forego the e_modules, but I'm the type who likes to have everything

e16 and e17 are very, very different window-managers [disclaimer] -- at least that's how I perceive it.[/disclaimer] A lot more different, than the one being a unstable version of the other. In other words: don't give up on e17 yet! It'll be worth your while. ;)

I hear you. But you wouldn't need to forego all modules. Some simply don't compile at the moment; many, however, do. (The same can be said about other e17 apps in general.) But you know that already.

I'd gladly sacrifice e_modules-moon for what's left of e17 eye-candy. ;) :D
