When I try to tun gvim, terminal, firefox and other gtk based apps most of them are bombing out due to the following error:-

Any ideas what's happenning and what the cure is please? |

Could you actually post the files referenced, or at least the specific lines

It looks like some screwed up shell scripting.

| thanks for the reply - it turns out my hard disk is the problem. Lots of corrupted file messages on startup etc. |
