I am in the process of moving my system to another harddrive because the original seems to be having problems. I am using the "tar" method described in this thread (https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-532185-highlight-copy+harddrive.html). During the taring process, I saw a bunch of I/O errors related to /lost+found. I wasn't sure what /lost+found even was so I did a google search and it seems to be a place where data is stored that gets lost because of file-system errors. Given the description, it seems safe to just go ahead and clear the contents assuming there's nothing in there I want to save. Is that right? THanks |

Yes, given the caveat you already noted. More info on lost+found here. _________________ Plants are pithy, brooks tend to babble--I'm content to lie between them.
