Hallo,
ich habe folgendes Problem mit PDFs. Wenn ich ein Fax verschicken will, dann muss ich das als PDF an meinen Provider hochladen. Das ging auch immer wunderbar, allerdings bekomme ich seit heute die Fehlermeldung, dass das PDF angeblich fehlerhaft ist.
Ich habe versucht, das mit xsane eingescannte Bild direkt als PDF abzuspeichern (das ging sonst immer), als Bild abzuspeichern und mit convert in ein PDF umzuwandeln, sowie das Bild mit convert in PS und mit ps2pdf in PDF umzuwandeln. Alles ohne Erfolg.
Was letztendlich funktioniert hat ist das Bild zu öffnen und mit dem PDF-Drucker von KDE zu drucken. Aber warum funktioniert das mit convert nicht? Oder direkt aus dem xsane-viewer heraus?
Da ich nicht genau weiß, welche Infos jetzt interessant wären, hier mal von allen fehlerhaften PDFs und dem funktionierenden ein pdfinfo:

Und jetzt der Hammer:
Damit wird das PDF akzeptiert:

$ convert test.png test.ps
$ ps2pdf13 -sPAPERSIZE=a4 test.ps test.pdf
|
Es liegt also anscheinend an der Papiergröße... Allerdings geht diese Option natürlich nicht bei convert oder bei xsane. Kann man das A4-Format irgendwo als Standard einstellen?

Okay, damit gehts auch.
Kann man das auch irgendwie als Standard einstellen? Sonst muss ich das ja jedes Mal extra als Parameter angeben... 
Und wie siehts aus mit xsane -> Scannen -> Speichern als PDF?

Schreib dir in /etc/bash/bashrc einen alias:
convert = 'convert -page a4'

Danke, das ist natürlich der einfache und geniale Trick auf den ich normalerweise selbst komme...
Allerdings hilft mir das z.B. beim PDF-Speichern von xsane aus nicht. Kennt sich damit jemand aus? Wie bekomm ich diese PDFs ordentlich hin?

Hallo, ich weiß nicht ob dir das eventuell bei deinem Problem weiter hilft aber bin gestern über eine Datei gestolpert:
/etc/papersize
in der bei mir a4 drin steht, ist das bei dir auch der Fall? |

Ja, da steht bei mir auch a4 drin. Allerdings musste ich bei ps2pdf auch A4, mit großen A angeben... jedenfalls bringt das für xsane nix.
