I was reading Acovea's over view form site http://www.coyotegulch.com/products/acovea/index.html

Can any body who know about genetic algorithms and Acovea working, please explain the meaning of following terms.
In this site Author uses term 'organisms',

organism = compiler options,
population = set of compiler options

but how is reproduction ,mutation and migration is achieved? http://www.coyotegulch.com/products/acovea/acoveaga.html
specifies

"Reproduction involves two-point crossover between two parent organisms. This can be adjusted to a probability between 0 and 1."

"Each option handles mutation according to its base class. For simple options, mutation involve turning the option on and off in the command line. A more complex option, like -fpmath, has several settings that may potentially change in its mutation function."

In 'Reproduction ' author speaks about "probability between 0 and 1." and then in mutation speaks about "turning the option on and off "
Can anybody please explain the difference between the two?
