Problem wygląda nastepuąco, przy próbie uruchomnienia hplip wyskakuje:

W /etc/hosts mam 127.0.0.1 gentoo więc nie bardzo wiem co jest przyczyną tego.

A co pokazuje na stderr aplikacja uruchomiona z palca z odpowiednimi parametrami?
