Hello,
I h've reinstalled gentoo on my computer and i've a problem to use samba with nautilus (gnome)
When i try to type smb:// or SMB://MYPC in nautilus, it say the place is invalid
I've installed Samba and lisa but i'm not sure that lisa is the good program to use samba with nautilus.
Mybe i need to configure something for nautilus but what and where???
someone can help me??

If you are running Gnome 2.16 or 2.18 you can mount samba volumes using Places->Connect to Server, with Windows Share as the Service type. From that window you can browse the local Windows network as well. You don't need any external program like lisa to do this.
It's possible this works with earlier versions of Gnome as well, but I know it works with 2.16 and 2.18. |
