|
|
I've just added myself to a group using:
Code: | #gpasswd -a me group |
If I try:
I can see I've been successfully added, but when I revert back to my normal user and try:
I'm not in that group.
My question is this: When is the group variable updated for users and is there any way to force this without rebooting? _________________ Nothing is what it seems to be. |

There is probably a better way of doing this, but logging off and logging on again is my method and usually clears things up. Hopefully there is a way to do it without logging out, and I hope someone will enlighten us |

Code: | A.44.2.2.20. newgrp
newgrp is used to change the current group ID during a login session. |
