Hi,
My xfce(4.4) was working very well with these NICE composite effects. Last night i emerged vlc and after this i emerged (-n) world.
Now the Composite effects stopped working. The panel in the "windows manager tweaks" also disappeared.
" grep COMPOSITE /var/log/Xorg.0.log" tells me: (II) Initializing built-in extension COMPOSITE.
if i start xcompmgr in the terminal nothing happens (but its shown as running)
same thing with transet
Has anyone a idea how to solve that ? (i want my effects back T_T)
(its my 2nd day with gentoo, so speak slowly because i might not understand it)

Solved: embarrassingly, I hadn't enabled xcomposite for xfwm4. I'd swear that when I did emerge xfce4 it was an option, but when emerging it individually, it showed up. |
yup xfwm4 has xcomposite not enabled . (?!?!!?)
 i have my effects back
