Hola,
Hace un par de dias, hice un a mi sistema, y al reiniciar el beryl dejo de funcionar, lo sintomas son: Entra y carga pero no responde al clickear en los menu de la barra de inicio, ó en ocasiones no carga nada (se queda solo el fondo) . Otra cosa curiosa es que al arrancar y cargar una consola de sesiones anterioreres (cuando restaura la sesion anterior),intento teclear comandos y estos tardan en aparecer, en una ocasion logre hacer un glrxgears y no se veia el gráfico pero si la salida del comando en la consola y daba unos 3000 - 3500 fps.
Otro dato es que el ratón va fluido, no se ralentiza ni nada.
Comentar que el kde sin beryl va bien ...

... He estado dandole vueltas al asunto y no consigo dar con el fallo, y hace unos 15 dias hice un emerge world que me dejo el sistema actualizado y 100 % funcional, uqe pudo haber pasado ?? :S

Puedes arrancar otro gestor de ventanas, y desde ahí arrancar manualmente beryl y ver que mensajes de error saca por consola. Veo que has actualizado, por ejemplo, el driver de ati. ¿Hay algún mensaje de error o warnings en el xorg.0.log? ¿Tienes aceleración? _________________ Signature wanted... Reward 10.000 € |

Al arrancar el kde , usa el KWin ( gestor de ventanas de kde) , y este va bien ... Si ejecuto beryl:

Y si no me equivoco si tengo aceleracion , aunq cuando estoy dentro de beryl no me salen los engranajes pero el glrxgears me da un buen fps (cerca de 4000 fps) ...

Si usas XGL, lanza desde la consola beryl-xgl --replace (y no beryl a secas) a ver si te da el mismo error.

AIGLX viene por defecto en las últimas versiones de Xorg. Si no lo has desactivado, Xorg lo intentará cargar. Añade esto al xorg.conf:

Prueba desactivando AIGLX (no debería aparecerte ningún error en el Xorg.0.log) y lanzando beryl-xgl desde la consola a ver que pasa. Es posible que tengas que lanzar a mano emerald para tener decoraciones de ventanas. Si entonces funciona, podrás utilizar beryl-manager sin problemas. _________________ Signature wanted... Yo creo que he tenido los mismos problemas que tú pero con Gnome. También tengo instalado Beryl con XGL sobre una ATI 9500 con fglrx. En mi caso creo haber localizado el problema y sÃ, fue debido a la actualización de las libX, en concreto al randrproto.
Prueba a bajar de versión los paquetes randrproto y libXrandr:

Si a ti también te funciona asÃ, habrá que pensar en dar parte a Gentoo Bugzilla. |

En efecto, ese era el problema, asi que tal y como dices seria buena idea reportarlo a bugzilla, aunque no tengo ni idea de como hacerlo (algun howTo :p ¿?) .. Por cierto como distes que el fallo eran esos dos paquetes ???? ...
