|

Hi there,
I have two RAID controllers. Adding host drives greater than 2TB on them doesn't show up with fdisk. This worked perfekt with the gentoo sources 2.6.19-r5 (trying in a few moments if this is still true). I've updated the gentoo machine, and since that (gentoo sources 2.6.22-r9) it doesn't, fdisk just shows, that the disk has 0 MByte and 0 Byte. If I try to access the host drive with fdisk or parted, both tell me that this doesn't work. All other host drives, which I configured lower than 2TB for testing, will show up.
Edit: Even gentoo sources 2.6.19-r5, what worked very well, doesn't show disks/host drives greater than 2TB anymore.

This is normal. Traditional DOS partition tables can't support drives larger than 2TB.
You could either use the array raw (no partitions), or you could use a different type of partitioning (GPT). |

Oh man, yes me is so dumb! You are so right, I was confused about the output from parted and fdisk.
Thanks! |
